Frequently Asked Questions

  • There are two possible solutions to this problem: You can leave your trash cans up by the garage, the side of the house, or anywhere where we can reasonably have access to them without needing to walk inside an enclosure. We will return them to that same spot when we finish our work. We will only go behind a gate if you give us authorization to do so. In addition, you can give us the contact information to the HOA Board and/or Manager and we will be happy to give them a call to see if we can come up with a solution. Many HOA’s work with us once they understand the health and aesthetic benefits of our service. Quite often the HOAs ask us to come back and serve their entire community and we’re happy to do so at discounted rates.

  • Simply call or email us in advance of your cleaning day and we will credit you for that month, skip your cleaning, and see you the following month. Unfortunately, if you do not let us know and we come to your home to provide the service, your account can not be credited.

  • This is the best part! They’ll look new and smell fresh and clean. In addition, you’ll receive a service confirmation email letting you know that the cans are cleaned, sanitized and deodorized.

  • Great question! At the end of each workday SanEtizeIT disposes all wash water in an approved manner. The water is processed at local sewage treatment plants and can be used for reclaimed water for irrigation purposes within the communities we serve.

  • We do our very best to ensure our trucks and the SanEtizeIT crew will always be available. In the unlikely event this were to happen, we would let you know as soon as possible and try to reschedule service. If this is not possible, we will not charge you and see you the following month.

  • No problem. When you initially schedule service we ask for your contact information. The day before our green eco-friendly wash trucks come to your neighborhood we will call, text, email (or all three) depending on your preference.

  • We will do our very best to remove old dried up paint but please understand it might take more than once to achieve desired results. Although we cannot take a trash can that is 20 years old and make it look brand new, rest assured it will be sanitized, disinfected, and deodorized.

  • Yes! Our cleaning process involves solutions that are eco-friendly and biodegradable to remove mold, mildew, bacteria, food and other disgusting yuckies from your trash cans.

  • We ask that you please keep in mind some old and stubborn stains might take more than one cleaning to remove years’ worth of grime. However, your trash cans will be deodorized and sanitized after the very first clean even if the old stubborn stains take more than one cleaning cycle to get rid of.

  • Your card will be billed after each cleaning.

  • It is safe to say the thorough cleaning, sanitizing and deodorizing of trash cans is a very unpleasant job. However besides the germs, bacteria, viruses and noxious odors lurking in your trash bins there are other reasons to get your trash bins professionally cleaned. The storm drain system, including the streets, curbs, gutters, ditches, man-made channels, storm drain inlets and other facilities it includes, prohibits anything but storm water – water from rain – from entering the system. (Municipal Code 43.0302) The Regional Water Quality Control Board requires the City to adopt and implement an ordinance providing the City with the authority to require best management practices to prevent discharges of pollutants into the storm drain system and to enforce against any illegal discharges of non-storm water and/or pollutants into the storm drain system. The City has included that ordinance as part of the Municipal Code, and it gives the City the necessary tools required to protect our local waterways and beaches from pollutants. https://www.sandiego.gov/stormwater/enforcement

  • Our trucks go to different neighborhoods each day. An email will be sent to you including the date we will be servicing your neighborhood. As a reminder, we will contact you the day before we come to your home by text or email. If you cannot wait until the next time our trucks are scheduled for your neighborhood, we are happy to offer an “Emergency Service”. Simply contact us and we will provide a quote for the additional fee.
